Mission Statement

To provide a high quality education for those wishing to learn massage therapy and, thereby, relieve pain and improve the quality of life for all who attend the school or come in contact with its graduates. To enlighten all people to their ability to care for themselves.

The Alexandria School of Scientific Therapeutics, Inc., was established in 1982 by Herbert and Ruthann Hobbs to offer quality education to those wishing to have a career in massage therapy.  After attending several massage schools, Ruthann decided to create a special learning environment that would cater to the needs of the students, then continue to serve as a resource center for them following their graduation.

"We want to know that the people we train are good and reputable and have the knowledge they need to be the best they can be in the field," says Ruthann. "We are willing to go to the limits to achieve this goal."

Herb and Ruthann have committed themselves and their school to the enlightenment of every person to their own ability to take care of their own health, and to the empowerment of each person in doing so. They wish to pass on their knowledge of natural therapeutics to students, so that it can be shared with the families, friends and future clients of those students. Through this commitment, Herb and Ruthann hope to relieve pain and improve the quality of life for all who attend the school or come in contact with its graduates.
